What is Head Start?
Head Start is a National program which provides income-eligible
pre-school children with activities that help them grow mentally, emotionally,
socially and physically. In addition, the program provides social services for
the families of enrolled children. "Every child deserves the child care
and early education 'the Head Start' that they need to get a strong start in
life." Head Start Works!
We are currently enrolling children for the 2008-2009 school year!
Head Start receives 90% of its funding from the Federal government, under the supervision of the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families. The other 10% of funding is derived from in kind (donations of time, materials, equipment, lease space, etc.) from Head Start families and the community.
