Since everyone has a different comfort level, there are various opportunities to participate in activities at the centers or through activities at home.

Some suggestions:

• Volunteer in a classroom -- one day, once a week or several times a week -- our teachers will be happy to coordinate times that fit into your schedule
• Become a member of our Policy Council
• Participate in an annual review of the agency's operations
• Arrange or volunteer for a fund raising event
• Donate inkind -- this can be everyday household items you might normally throw away (paper towel or toilet paper rolls, egg cartons, or milk cartons, for example)
• Keep a record of learning activities you and your child do together
• Volunteer to help with "behind the scenes" classroom preparation work
• Share something special about yourself and/or your family with your child's class -- work, ethnic foods, hobbies or family traditions

Your child's teacher is available to help you participate in many ways and to help you and your child to feel comfortable.
